CHRISTMAS!

For our Christmas break we enjoyed a full two weeks at home.  The icicles on our house looked awesome with the Christmas lights.

We did the cookie decorating with everyone.

We got the snowman checked off our winter bucket list and even used a snowman kit for his face.

For our Christmas eve dinner we had tamales and mexican coke.  Yum!

Christmas Eve... all ready for Santa to come.

Christmas morning was magical and peaceful.  Many surprises and a great day at home together.

The aftermath...

The Cask Family Christmas party is always something to look forward to.

We did some ice skating at the Galavin's Center and loved it.

On New Year's we invited friends over and celebrated!

It was a great two weeks spent at home!

Happy 7th birthday Will!

Every year I'm shocked another year has gone by and my baby boy isn't little anymore!  His birthday was on a Wednesday this year.  We got him up and made his favorite breakfast, German Pancakes, then opened the gift tower (for busy/lazy parents who didn't have time to wrap each gift individually).

He really wanted Legos so that's what he got... and some other stuff.

We went to Soelberg's to get his birthday treat-- doughnuts and juice.  When we were walking in he said, "Mom do you get cooler on your birthdays?"  and I said yes, that's why I am super cool... because I'm old.  He said, "Yeah and you were really weird and nerdy when you were little."

Gee, thanks buddy!

When we got home from school Will couldn't wait to build Legos.  Since I happen to LOVE them I was happy to help him!

That night we went to his favorite place for dinner, Cafe Rio.  He always orders a huge burrito and eats most of it... crazy, I know.  This boy eats A LOT.

Then, we went to Cold Stone to choose a cake.

We got home and sang Happy Birthday.

I love my sweet Will.  He is such a content, happy boy.  He is so fun to be around.  He is taking on the "Cask" sense of humor with his practical jokes and teasing... I tend to laugh harder than Matt and Mae (they don't get it), but he is always making me laugh.  Will has a tender heart.  He is always concerned that someone is going to be left out or get their feelings hurt.  He doesn't want anyone to feel bad.  Will has little girls he likes at school.  Last year he had one in particular, Jordan... I ran into her mom at church and she said her daughter said "I fell down at recess and Will reached his hand out to help me up... like "A Prince!"

Will is good at anything he does... I mean, really, he is.  We went ice skating and he took some laps around getting used to it, then he took off on his own.  He knows he can accomplish anything.  His teachers have reported to us how smart and sharp he is.  A lot of things in school come very easy to him.  He is also a go-getter and loves to get his home-work done so he can play and do other things.  I Love that he naturally has such good habits!

For Will's birthday we did archade games, went to dinner and saw the movie Frozen.  It was such a fun day celebrating our sweet boy.  I am blessed to be his mother.

We need a little Christmas

On the first day of our first snowfall I taught my class how to make snowflakes.  They are still hanging up in my classroom... I love them!

On the way to school I am always seeing such gorgeous sunrises!

This year we finally got some Christmas lights on our house.  I love the multi-color lights.

We had a ward party that was Out-Of-This-World-Amazing... with the Polar Express theme.  And the kiddos got to chat with Santa towards the end.

Mae danced in the Nut Cracker Ballet.  This year she was one of the "party girls" at the beginning.

We are so proud of our ballerina.  She loves dancing on the stage.  Olivia and Emily came to see Mae dance.

We also had Brenda, Alesi and Rachel come support Mae.

I found this adorable snow globe with a nutcracker in it... perfect gift for a girl who loves the Nutcracker Ballet.

We celebrated Kathleen's birthday but going to an awesome pizza place in SLC.

We celebrated Will's birthday by doing an activity of his choice... archade!

We introduce the kiddos to Pho.  Something Matt and I LOVE... only to find that they thought it was gross.  Sad!  I don't understand why they love ramen noodles but not Pho!  Really?!

Matt and I got ambitious and made caramel apples for our neighbors and teachers and friends and family.

Will got this awesome mask for his birthday -- he picked it out!

And... we wore our Christmas best to church.  I love all of the festivities of December!
